I always hoped they would do a multi night run at Rich but it never happened. This show was 6/12/1993
Sting was just ok. He would be much better in asmaller venue.
Had another great night. Somewhat sad about the performance, the end was near.
Still, everyone danced and jammed and forgot about the world for a few hours. Isn't that the point??
Truckin' gave evryone a lift. Cassidy reminded me of '77.
Again, a night to remember for many reasons.
This was one of only a couple of times I got to see them and it was my first show. I remember realizing at one point that I was surrounded by an entire stadium of dancing people. It was beautiful.
for some reason I remember all of the canadians trying to barter with canadian cash...
This was my first show after a 4 year hiatus. A huge "Thank You! (for a real good time)" to Scott F. for dragging me out of my cave for this one and also for taking me to see JGB in Syracuse later the same year. Lord knows I needed it...
This was my last show. JG passed away on my daughter's 12th birthday. Sad day for all. Glad that the others are still making music. Seeing Ratdog in a few weeks.
"they're all wasted"
Let's not forget the Tea in the Sahara moment when Jerry sat in with Sting. Hot band, esp Vinnie. I think it was a bit of a trip for Sting to open for the Dead - not a lot of people in the stands or listening very hard, but good music.
Ahhh yes, my first show. Too much fun in the parking lot meant not remembering much of the music but remembering it being extremely hot that day. Lots of beer and other things kept me from enjoying the show. I do remember the ride home was terrible, Buffalo to Westmoreland (4.5 hours) with the heat being stuck in my Renault Encore. As I got older I waited for the show to start before experimenting with mind expanders. Still, there is always something very special about your first time.
