Grateful Dead
jer'n'me
that was taken while i was working on the fillmore east sound crew. i didn't know it existed until about 15 years later, and it totally blew my mind when i first saw it...
but they're something of a blur these days!
because the pics is grainy, I can't make out which crew member you are/were Mandala. It looks like it's Hunter...
nope, that's me standing behind jerry and his amp. i was the "microphone man" on the fillmore east stage crew from friday the 13th of september in '69 - 7/9/70, when i just picked up and moved to norcal so i could be around way more shows. my "claim to fame" was spearheading those infamous stealth recordings of the 2/13-14/70 shows that i eventually gave to bob menke who gave a copy to dick latvala, which he credited with really sparking his interest in collecting gd recordings (this is documented in some of the gd history books.)
i'm also quoted at the end of the introduction to the book of the deadheads, summing up what it means to be a deadhead.
